Terms of Service

In effect since 21 October 2026

The rules for playing AFTERBLOOM. Signing in means you agree to them, so they are short and written to be read.

1Agreeing to these terms

These terms are the agreement between you and the AFTERBLOOM team (“we”, “us”) for playing AFTERBLOOM. By signing in, you agree to them, and you confirm you have read our Privacy Policy, which says what we keep about you and why. If you do not agree, do not sign in.

You must be at least 16, or have a parent’s permission, to have an account.

2Your account

  • Nobody signs up with an email: an admin makes your account, or you sign in with a Google account the game accepts.
  • Your account is yours alone. Keep your password to yourself; if you think someone else has it, change it in your profile and tell us.
  • Your username is your name in the game, and other players and admins may see it. Choose one that does not impersonate anyone and is not offensive; we may change a username that is, and tell you.

3Playing fair

When you play, do not:

  • break into, overload or disrupt the game, its servers or other players’ accounts, or try to get around its sign-in or limits;
  • use the game’s servers or interfaces with bots, scrapers or any automation we have not allowed;
  • use the game to break the law or to harass anyone.

Found a bug or a way in that should not be there? Tell us at privacy@playafterbloom.com; we are grateful, not angry.

4A game in development

AFTERBLOOM is free to play and still being made. Missions, units, rules and balance change, features come and go, and the game may be unavailable while we work on it. We do our best to keep your saved games working across updates, but an update can make an old save unplayable, and we cannot promise that any save will last.

5What is ours, and what you may do with it

The game, its world and story, its art, sounds, music, names and code belong to the AFTERBLOOM team. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to play it for your own non-commercial enjoyment, for as long as you have an account.

Screenshots and videos of you playing are welcome, including on channels that earn money, as long as you do not suggest we endorse you. Anything else, such as copying the game’s assets or code or offering it elsewhere, needs our written permission.

6The newsletter

The newsletter is optional and separate from your account: you join it only by asking (on a victory screen or in your profile), and you can leave at any time from your profile or the link in every email.

7Suspending or closing an account

You can stop playing whenever you like; to have your account and everything in it deleted, write to privacy@playafterbloom.com.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or that we must close by law. Unless the reason is serious or urgent, we tell you why first and give you a chance to answer. We may also end the game altogether; if we do, we say so in advance.

8Our responsibility

The game is free and provided as it is, while it is still being made. As far as the law allows, we do not promise it will always be available, error-free or keep your saves, and we are not liable for indirect losses or for lost game progress.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for harm we cause on purpose or through gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, or anything else the law does not let us exclude, and nothing takes away the rights you have as a consumer where you live.

9Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the game grows. We change the date on this page, and for changes that matter we tell you in the game or by email before they apply. Signing in after they apply means you accept them; if you do not, you can stop playing and ask us to delete your account.

10Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of the European Union and of the EU member state where the AFTERBLOOM team is established. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in its courts.

If something goes wrong, write to us first at privacy@playafterbloom.com: we would much rather sort it out together.
